Our Medical Providers Believe That Relationships Matter

At Generations Family Practice, our approach to patient care centers around the belief that the doctor-patient relationship is sacred, and is the keystone of quality primary care.

Research has demonstrated that patients who actively participate in their medical care (e.g. ask questions, work on healthier lifestyle choices), do better biologically and have a higher quality of life. This is why our medical providers focus on continuity and building trust in our relationships with individual patients, between patients and families and their other clinicians. By making it our goal to provide a caring primary care infrastructure, we hope to protect and empower our patients, as well as to support them in creating healthier lifestyles.

Nurturing a Sound and Beneficial Doctor-Patient Relationship

While we make it a priority to focus on building great doctor-patient relationships with our patients, here are a few things you can do to get the most out of your time with us.

  • Bring a List of Questions and Concerns: As questions and concerns pop up between visits, make a note of them and bring to your appointment. It can be difficult to remember everything you had in mind during your appointment. A list of questions help make sure you leave feeling confident and comfortable that you addressed all concerns. At any time you may also message one of our providers through our Patient Portal.
  • Take Notes or Bring a Family Member/Friend: If you find it difficult to remember the details of your conversation after your appointment, consider taking a few notes during your visit. Or, you may want to bring a family member or friend to help make sure you catch everything.
  • Provide Background: If you have been experiencing a symptom on and off for some time, it can be helpful to keep a log to share with your physician during your appointment. Your medical history is important, so come prepared.
